Bicycle traffic

To attract more people to a healthier lifestyle, to increase the options for mobility and to create a good quality infrastructure in clean environment, Liepaja is actively working on the development of cycling infrastructure.

 Cycle lanes

Currently in Liepaja there are cycle lanes in the total length of more than 40 km. In each street reconstruction the possibility to build a cycle lane is considered, that is why their number constantly increases.

Bicycle parking

In the city there are bicycle parking racks that are especially designed for Liepaja, they are located near the most visited public objects, for instance, Petertirgus (market place), City Council, St.Nicholas cathedral, bus and railway terminal, Liepaja beach, Rožu laukums and other places.

Businessmen are also welcome to install bicycle parking racks at the entrances of their establishments. Technical drawings and approval to use the design, as well us suggestions for the production of the bicycle parking racks are available at PI “Komunālā pārvalde” at Uliha iela 44 in Liepaja.
