Oskars Kalpaks Bridge
Oskars Kalpaks swing bridge is one of the oldest metal bridge in Latvia, it was opened in 1906.
The bridge is constructed of two identical rotating parts that are each turned in its own direction over Karosta canal.
Karosta canal is an active shipping route that is why it is opened for ships several times a day.
Oskars Kalpaks Bridge is rotated for vessels 5 times a day:
- 01:00–03:00
- 05:00–06:30
- 10:30–12:00
- 14:30–15:30
- 19:30–21:00
To see if O.Kalpaks Bridge is opened, there is a web cam installed.
O.Kalpaks Bridge is not rotated at the specified times if the speed of the wind exceeds 10 m/s or if no vessel manoeuvres are planned.
